Executive Director's Welcome
The Pittsfield Housing Authority, established since 1945 is in part a State, and Federal agency. Its Commissioners are appointed by our Governor of Massachusetts and Mayor of Pittsfield. We are regulated by both the Federal and State governments. PHA owns its developments in its own right, but the use and disposal of the property are restricted by contracts with either the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) or the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD).
It is the purpose of the PHA to remain committed to providing quality public and subsidized housing. Each of our developments reflects the diversity of our residents and their surrounding neighborhoods. We offer housing for people from many walks of life and we enjoy participating in their lives through our programs. We work hard to maintain a positive living environment to promote community and self-reliance to our residents.
As a public agency PHA administers two distinct housing programs, Public Housing and the Rent Assistance program (also known as Section 8).
We strive to provide a family environment.
Thank you for visiting,
R. Dennis Enright - Executive Director
